“I’m going to get right to it, then I’ll elaborate. Book The Lava Game if you’re getting married, mitvah’ed, ANYTHING. They are AMAZING. I’ve been married two weeks and I’m still getting calls, texts, personal visits to my desks from co-workers who attending the wedding – all singing the praises of this incredible band. Myself and the groom are awesome, of course, but The Lava Game MADE our wedding. I first heard TLG at Zoo Brew last year. Not yet engaged, I approached the lead singer Mike to ask if they did events, specifically weddings. He confirmed and asked when I was getting married, yet didn’t bat one judgey eyelash at me when I said I wasn’t even engaged yet. Ironically, fast-forward two weeks and I was engaged, and eager for my fiancé to hear TLG live. We got that chance when we showed up at Beerfest at the Convention Center to the smooth sounds of TLG. We danced the night away, loving every second of their brand of killer covers. Since then we kept finding TLG at several events; Pirates games, another Zoo Brew event, etc. I never thought a live band would be in my budget for the wedding but TLG was. AND, the package they provided included live ceremony and cocktail hour music in addition to playing the reception, DJing at various points, some seriously sweet lighting, and the best damn MC in the business, their drummer, Jeff. Lead singer Mike served as my contact throughout the planning process and he couldn’t be a nicer guy. He even learned a specific song to play me down the aisle and organized our playlists according to our exact specifications.

Upon arrival at our venue on our wedding day I was SHOCKED at TLG’s setup. The lights they brought to warm up the place were AWESOME and so much better than I could’ve ever imagined. The band members all looked very dapper in the wedding day duds and once I met Jeff, I was completely hooked forever. He was the best MC we could’ve asked for. Cool as a cucumber, Jeff talked us through various points in the evening when our wedding planner was nowhere to be found. He charmed the guests with his microphone banter and made us feel totally comfortable throughout what I’m sure can be a stressful event (it wasn’t). So basically, I’m in love. I think that’s clear. With the groom, yes. With TLG, yes. So much so that we went to Buckhead’s this past weekend just to hear them live and relive the most unforgettable night of my life. TLG is a class act and the best money you’ll spend for your big day – I guarantee it.”

“You guys are absolutely amazing and I can’t thank you enough for making our wedding so fun and memorable!!!”

“In addition to over 85 craft beers to enjoy, The Lava Game has been a highlight for over 2,000 guests at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium’s ZooBrew. They always set the energy high as they captivate the guests as they step off the escalator. From my first correspondence with them, I knew they would be easy to work with, fun, and professional. Their wide range of musical genres kept the playlist ever changing, with constant crowd participation as the night went on. I would highly recommend booking The Lava Game for any of your upcoming events. They always go above and beyond to deliver and ensure customer satisfaction.”

“I don’t know about you, but I never thought of having a live band at our wedding. I thought that a live wedding band was “out of style” and a D.J. was the only option we had for our reception entertainment. I am happy to report that I was wrong! The Lava Game exceeded our expectations on every level. They took the time to sit down with us and go through all the details of our special day, and actually listened to what we wanted. They gave us amazing input and suggestions that went along with what we wanted, and helped make our reception perfect. I was nervous that they would play only current songs, but they listened to our requests and had a great mix of everything we love. We had our guests write a song suggestion on their R.S.V.P. cards, and The Lava Game did a great job of learning and performing or playing those songs. Not only do they play live music, but they also D.J. in between sets, during cocktail hour, and during dinner. I am a huge Steeler fan and my husband is a huge Star Wars fan, The Lava Game incorporated our personalities into our reception music at all the right times. When we made our “grand entrance”, they played the Steelers Theme Song, and when we cut the cake, they played the Star Wars Imperial March. Most importantly, these guys are amazingly talented! I have had so many people compliment us on our reception, and the band is what I hear about the most. Not only are you hiring a live band, you are hiring a D.J. and the Master of Ceremonies for the biggest night of your life. It is extremely important to hire someone you trust, who takes time to get to know you and your partner, and is talented. Trust me when I say, if you hire The Lava Game to play at your wedding or other event, I promise you will NOT be disappointed!!”

“We wanted to thank you for an amazing and unforgettable evening.  When I told my father that we were having a band play at our reception he was more than a little skeptical (he even brought ear plugs).  By the end of your second song the smile on his and everyone’s face was priceless…. pure enjoyment!  Everyone that we talked to after the reception has commented that the band was truly spectacular, people even called our families to tell them how much they enjoyed The Lava Game.  You really helped turn what could have been an average reception and made it a memorable event, thank you for everything.  We can’t wait to see you guys again.”

“I want to thank The Lava Game for doing a wonderful job playing at my wedding. There were 3 weddings in my family last year, and everyone said they had the most fun at mine because of the band. They did a great job announcing everything. They also kept me updated during the planning process and were very easy to get a hold of. The band was so good that there was not a single person sitting all night. A live band is definitely the way to go, and The Lava Game ROCKED!!!”

Thanks so much,
Gina & Jonathan Illig
